What is the Bowflex Treadclimber TC20?

While Bowflex has released quite a few products in the Treadclimber series, the TC20 really has made the most visible difference. The Bowflex Treadclimber TC20 has 2 saved user profiles, while the TC10 has just one and the TC5 has none. In addition to this, it is the only machine with a built-in heart rate monitor out of the three and the only one with extended treadles. It has a new display function, adding HR to time, speed, calories and distance. Indeed, it is larger than the other two models (with a 31.5-inch width, 55.25-inch height, and 55-inch diameter and 217-pound weight), but it has a compact build that was designed to last.

It has a nice speed range of 0.5 miles per hour to 4.5 miles per hour and was crafted to benefit individuals that have undergone accidents and require low impact exercise (the manufacturers describe this feature well, as being easy on the joints). The machine has a capacity of 300 pounds and is great especially for tall individuals (Bowflex Treadclimber TC20 reviews particularly recommend it for users that are 6 feet or taller).

As far as disadvantages are concerned, the most concerning question among potential customers is “how much does a Treadclimber cost, the Bowflex TC20?” We will get more into this topic below, in our section of pros and cons to suing the Bowflex Treadclimber TC20.

Recommended Routine

Most customers praise the Bowflex Treadclimber TC20 for being easy to use, no matter how old you are, but they still focus upon one specific piece of advice: start off slow. As this is a professional exercise machine, it can be a bit challenging for users who do not frequently exercise, so it is best to work your way up. You can experiment with the 5 basic workout programs that the machine provides to see which one fits your needs the best and then venture into the 3 landmark programs to tweak your workout to your preferences. Combine walking sessions on the treadmill with climbing steps and using it as an elliptical trainer to make the most of all its features.

Maintenance Advice

One of the main problems regarding the Bowflex Treadclimber TC20 is that it makes a lot of noise and that it noticeably vibrates. Users recommend using Appliance Anti-Walk pads under the legs in the front and the back. These pads are usually destined for washing machines, but they work wonders for the Bowflex Treadclimber TC20 as well. According to a respective customer, you can purchase these pads at Lowes.

Accessories

The most important accessory that you should take into consideration when buying the Bowflex Treadclimber TC20 is a high quality, thick and durable exercise machine mat. The product is extremely heavy and you not only risk ruining your floor but also increasing the noise the machine already makes. It may also be a good idea to invest in a good lubricant when purchasing the treadclimber, as lubricant is vital for proper maintenance.

Warranty and Guarantee Information

As expected, the Bowflex TC20 offers a longer warranty than many other products in its class. The Bowflex Treadclimber TC20 has a three-year warranty.

Bowflex Treadclimber TC20 User Reviews

As we mentioned above, most TC20 Bowflex Treadclimber reviews point out that the machine makes annoying sounds that might become uncomfortable (to solve the problem, please see the Maintenance Advice section of our review). Aside from this, several customers complain that they expected more technical features from the Bowflex Treadclimber TC20 given how expensive it is.

Our Recommendation

We highly admire the Bowflex Treadclimber TC20 for a large number of features it offers and that it allows you to benefit from three exercise machines in just one product. We also like the fact that it was made for the average individual that does not have a great fitness background, but who wants to get in more exercise throughout the day from home. While we do agree that the Bowflex Treadclimber TC20 is on the pricey side, we would recommend it to users who possess the necessary budget and who want to make an investment for their home gym.

  1. So many Bowflex Treadclimbers out there. Is the Treadclimber TC20 really that different from other models? I like the idea of combining an elliptical trainer, treadmill, and step climber. That’s a big step up from my basic treadmill that’s more than a few years old. Is there a place to set a smartphone so I can watch Netflix?
